In the morning of November 7th, 2019 Hubei International Technology Matchmaking Conference(HITMC), sponsored by Hubei Provincial People's Government and undertaken by Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Department was opened in Wuhan. XIAO Juhua, Vice Governor of Hubei Province attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. The opening ceremony was presided over by ZHANG Shengren, Director-General of Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Department.

The theme of this Conference is “Building bridge for scientific and technological cooperation and gathering international scientific and technological innovation resources” The purpose of this Conference is to promote the cooperation and matchmaking of innovative technology between Hubei and the globe, to build a bridge and international platform connecting Hubei science and technological and innovation technology with the world, and to attract innovative elements such as science and technology, talents and funds with the world. Representatives from various countries made speeches, including Mr. Okimi Nakazku, former Chairman of Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and Chief Researcher of JST China Comprehensive Research and Exchange Center;Mr. Wong Choo Sin, Commercial Counselor of Singapore Embassy in China and Head of China Department ofEnterprise Singapore;Mr. Henk Stigter, Agricultural Counsellor of Royal Netherlands Embassy in China;Mr. Moon Su Yeon, Chief Researcher of KIAT, and Mr. XIA Xiaohua, Professor of the University of Pretoria and Academician of ASSAf and South African Academy of Engineering (SAAE), etc.

There were more than 130 international representatives who participated in 2019 Hubei International Technology Matchmaking Conference. They came from over 90 overseas institutions and more than 15 different countries, including the Unites States, Japan, Singapore, Germany, France, the Netherlands, South Korea, Greece and South Africa, etc. This Conference provided more than 100 matchmaking projects with high technical content, covering biomedicine, medical apparatus and instruments, information technology, artificial intelligence, intelligent manufacturing, new materials, energy conservation and environment protection, aviation and other industries.

This matchmaking Conference has such 5 different sessions as Sino-Dutch Coordinated Development Summit of feed and food, China and South Korea Innovation Forum, project matchmaking meeting between Japan and Hubei Province, project matchmaking meeting between Singapore and Hubei Province and project matchmaking meeting between Germany and Hubei Province. And each matchmaking session includes two parts – roadshow and negotiation. In the roadshows, foreign enterprises introduced their latest project results and matchmaking needs. In the negotiations, representatives of Chinese and foreign enterprises developed positive and in-depth negotiations and exchanges. It's worth mentioning that the Sino-Dutch Coordinated Development Summit of feed and food, aimed at sharing feed and food safety monitoring system based on risk analysis and supply chain management, helping enterprises establish their own quality control system, and further improving the food quality and safety of meat, eggs, milk and other animal by-products, played a very significant role in strengthening international scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation in the field of feed and food safety in our province for one hand, and in improving the management level of feed and food production and processing enterprises in our province for another.

This Conference not only attracted cutting-edge international technology and leading international teams, but also promoted the exchange and integration between Hubei and the globe concerning science and technology, talents, capital and industry. In addition, this Conference, as an important action in this new era for our province to open wider to the outside world and closely participate in international scientific and technological cooperation, showed the new pattern and new look of Hubei’s international scientific and technological opening up and cooperation, playing a very crucial role in helping us knowing the current situation of international scientific and technological innovation, and in enhancing the international vision of enterprises in our province and promoting industrial upgrading and high-quality development.

Other participants present at this Conference are HE Lijun, Deputy Director of the General Office of the Provincial Government, relevant leaders of China Science and Technology Exchange Center and China International Talent Exchange Center, and more than 400 representatives of relevant colleges and universities in our province, municipal science and technology bureaus, municipal high-tech development zones, venture capital institutions and high-tech enterprises.
